The Dead.

Tonight a meeting with the Dead Babies. Our goal: Bring them to sobriety. It will be a long and hard fight...

Now really, we are trying to organize a Fundraiser for the Dead Baby ride Friday the 6th of March. We hope to end it at Hooverville and some how raise some money there. A Foosball tournament is also in the works.

The following day, Saturday the 7th of March, Kevin Anderson and I are organizing the Westside Ralley Cat. This will be an alleycat that explores the alleys and nasty spaces that our wonderful city has to offer. The start location has not been finalized, but we plan to finish at the I-5 collonade MTB park for a barbeque and a Fixed Freestyle event. The alleycat will start at 2pm and will be $10.

Fliers will be available soon.

One more for the Road.

Another quality meeting. Thanks to everyone in attendance. Over the next few weeks we are going to be putting together the data portion of the racebook. We are compiling a list of the best Coffee Shops, Bars, Restaurants, Bike Shops and Oddities in the Seattle areas that will be visited during the Westside Invite. As expected we have come up with to many. The material that we refine will be given to Jason Britton. Jason will design the racebook with art direction from everyone with a mouth. Good luck Jason!

There was an very impromptu T-Shirt design contest that concluded last night with six excellent designs produced. In two weeks these six designs will be digitally rendered in ballot form for the Seattle messenger community to vote on. The winning design will be applied to the majority of shirts, but not the first 25. Mark Pilder, bless his soul, will be printing them for us. It is said he will work for raw meat and IPA, but this information is unsubstantiated.

I also have word of a possible Title sponsor. Knog, a bicycle light and accessory manufacture out of Australia has stepped up and offered to be the title sponsor. Their monetary assistance will rid us of any worries we had about covering the costs of food, prizes, permits and race kits. If you are coming form out of town prepare to take a lot more shit home with you than you brought here. Having a title sponsor also means their name goes in the title, so there may be some major changes in the next few weeks. Keep checking the website for updates.

Thanks
Robert

Registration opened last night at 6pm. So far it has been a success. If you have not registered yet, do it now.
Look for some website changes in the next few weeks. Some locations are changing, and we are rearranging the schedule to better accommodate everyone.

Brilliant meeting.

First of all thanks for everyone who came out to the meeting, or is watching this from home.

Last night we focused on cultivating Food sponsors for the Westside Invite. As some of you know, we are planning to have three free meals available for anyone who registers.
No one company will be able to provide us with that much food. So, we are faced with finding multiple eateries to donate what they can and have enough to cover the three days.
I think this can be done.
Everyone who was at the meeting is now on a quest to bring in one food sponsor. I invite everyone else to join in if you like. Have potential sponsors contact us at westsideinvite2009@gmail.com.

Recently we have received a few big sponsors, and the first round of fliers are about to come out.

New Belgium, thank you.

Raleigh USA, will be donating two Complete bikes to the winners of the Westside Invite.

Raleigh, thank you.

Also a SF messenger bag manufacture, Freight Baggage is in on the deal.
Freight Baggage, thank you.

Thanks again to:
Stumptown, Hooverville Bar, and the Dead Babies and everyone else for showing their support.

In the second half of the meeting we spoke about Fundraisers.
It seems that in the next Four months we will host three different fundraising events.
Money made at these events will go to the purchase of food, prizes, t-shirts, etc... for the Westside Invite 2009, Seattle WA.

The first event will be most likely the first weekend in march. It will be an alley cat.

The second event will be at the end of march, or early april. Possible Corndog Classic?

The third event will be a raging party/artshow/goldsprints/disco/last horrah before the Westside Invite decends apon us like a dark storm, washing us off the face of the earth.

We will be passing out fliers and promoting these events soon.

We also spoke about the race book and what it will have in it. Maps, specifices about different areas, local restauraunts, and photos were a few of the items that we came up with. In a few weeks the Thursday meeting will be based solely on the collection of the data to be stored in the book.
What would you like to see in a race book? Let me know.

Registration.
Registration will be all day friday before and after the Ladies only alleycat. Most likely we will start registration at around 9 or 10am at Mobius Cycle in Downtown Seattle. At some point registration might be moved to Hooverville Bar where we will can be ready to register people before and durring the Welcoming party.

Things are looking good for now, and everyone is welcome on thursdays to come to the meetings.

Thanks
Robert

They also kick ass

The Dead Baby Bike Club will be sponsoring the Westside Invite by providing security for all of the events. They will be a visible fixture of all events, and we look forward to working with the Dead Babies. They also kick ass.
